Kammerchor "Sächsische Schweiz" Performance

To help celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Columbus Maennerchor, the Kammerchor (Chamber Choir) "Sächsische Schweiz" (Saxon Switzerland) from Dresden Germany will be performing at Germania on Thursday, October 26th from 7:00-8:00 PM. 

There will be approximately 30 singers along with their host families in attendance. All Germania members and guests are welcome to attend this free evening of music!

About the Chamber Choir Saxon Switzerland: 

Since 2008, there has been a close friendship between the Columbus men's choir and choir director Gernot Jerxsen from Pirna in the Saxon Switzerland near Dresden. This was preceded with a visit by the conductor of the Saxon Mountaineering Choir, Kurt Schlosser. This close friendship led to a warm invitation to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Columbus  men's choir. As a result, the Saxon Switzerland Chamber Choir was founded especially for this occasion. The choir consists of 27 dedicated good singers who are full of joy and enthusiasm to get to know this Columbus men's choir and the United States. Almost all of the singers come from the Saxon Switzerland region and also sing in the seven different choirs of choir director Jerxsen. In just 15 rehearsals, the choir worked out the day's repertoire. The members of the choir feel honored, and are proud and full of anticipation to be part of this anniversary.
