This week’s Thursday Gemütlichkeit at Germania will feature a new guest chef in the kitchen. Daniel Kern, a German-trained chef who has been a featured chef in Columbus Monthly and the Columbus Dispatch newspapers and is former owner of Alex’s Bistro in Upper Arlington. He is currently the special events coordinator and chef for The Country Club at Muirfield Village.
Daniel grew up in his parents’ hotel in Oberstaufen, Germany, where his father was a chef. He studied hospitality in Bonn, Germany and had his chef apprenticeship in Köln, Germany. He came to Columbus 18 years ago after a friend from school relocated here. He has been a Germania member for the past two years. He lives in Hilliard with his wife and two daughters.
