Germania Volkstänzer

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:  Tuesdays:  Volktänzers - 7:00 p.m. (The Kindertänzers are on summer break.)

The Germania Volkstänzer were founded on July 2, 1990 by a group of 17 dancers, under the direction of Nancy Hahn.  Nancy faithfully led the group of dancers until 2003.  At that time, the group came under the leadership of Mark Pinnick, it's current director.  In 2006, the Kindertänzers were formed with children ages 5 years through 12 years old.

The focus of the group is to promote the German culture through dance.  The group performs dances from Germany, Austria, and the Alsace region of France.  The group performs at Germania events as well as events at the Columbus Männerchor, Newark Männerchor, Columbus Oktoberfest and the Columbus International Festival.  The group also performs at area Elementary, Middle and High Schools or by invitation from other organizations.
